Global Groove Music Series - Chicago, IL

The Global Groove Music Series will be a monthly showcase for 'World Music' in Chicago. Specifically, they are interested in Gypsy, Balkan, Asian, South Asian, African, Reggae, Samba, Middle Eastern and European ethnic ensembles, and Latin music. Compensation is negotiable./n/nThe Global Groove Music Series will be a monthly showcase for 'World Music' in Chicago. The series will be promoted by three local arts organizations in one of the city's most exciting neighborhoods. Compensation are negotiable based on experience, but guarantees with backends are not out of the question for the right ensemble.



The series aims to highlight ethnic and cultural diversity by presenting musical forms taken from around the globe. Traditional ethnic ensembles are welcomed, as are progressive and forward looking fusion acts. Specifically, they are interested in Gypsy, Balkan, Asian, South Asian, African, Reggae, Samba, Middle Eastern and European ethnic ensembles, and Latin music.



The presenting organizations will be promoting the event to an email list of 30,000 music aficionados. Shows will begin in December 2009 and run through May of 2010.
