Summary

Gorilla Music is a national producer of battle of the band shows in venues spanning many cities. The battles are open to a variety of genres including acoustic, adult contemporary, alternative, Americana, avant-garde, bluegrass, blues, Celtic, classic rock, Christian, country, folk, funk, goth, hip hop, rap, jam bands, metal, new age, pop, punk, reggae, rock, singer/songwriter, soul, and R&B. Cover bands will not be considered./n/nGorilla Music is a national producer of battle of the band shows in venues spanning many cities. The battles are open to a variety of genres including acoustic, adult contemporary, alternative, Americana, avant-garde, bluegrass, blues, Celtic, classic rock, Christian, country, folk, funk, goth, hip hop, rap, jam bands, metal, new age, pop, punk, reggae, rock, singer/songwriter, soul, and R&B. Cover bands will not be considered. Artists should be based no more than an hour from the location of the competition to which they're applying.



Gorilla is currently looking for artists to compete in the following cities:

  • Milwaukee, WI on August 20th

  • New Orleans, LA on August 20th

  • Washington DC on August 21st

  • Raleigh, NC on August 21st

  • Mandeville, LA on August 21st

  • Springfield, VA on August 21st

  • Hartford, CT on August 27

  • Atlanta, GA on August 28th

  • Little Rock, AR on August 28th

  • Detroit, MI on August 28th

  • Garwood, NJ on September 4th

  • Charlotte, NC on September 4th

  • Dallas, TX on September 11th

  • Greenville, SC on October 9th






Winner gets:

  • $500

  • 20 hours of studio time

  • Sets last 30 min

  • Promoter provides a PA and mics.



The Gorilla Music Battles are open to contestants of all ages and expect an attendance of around 250. Selected bands are given presale tickets. There is no sale requirement to play however timeslots are determined by ticket sales and artists may keep any presale profits. Judging is based on audience response and applause at the end of the night. Check in is strictly 90 minutes before the show’s start time.



If your band does a good job promoting and performing on a Gorilla battle, the promoter will book your band on more Gorilla events such as local showcases or festivals. Gorilla Music books shows in over 80 clubs across the country and can offer suggestions for your band’s tour. Gorilla Music’s agents are promotional experts who will always be available to advise your band. They also offer professional resources to help bands network and earn recognition through proven techniques. For selected artists your Gorilla agent will call you every week to help prepare for the event. Their graphics team designs a professional flier for every event. If your band is headlining, they will design the flier around your band. The day of the event, the local event coordinator will meet you at check in to make sure the event runs smoothly. Gorilla Music’s staff consists of musicians, artists, producers, former club owners and promoters who understand your band’s challenges and goals.
