Gothicfest 2007 will be held at the Excalibur in downtown Chicago. This castle like building, designed by Henry Ives Cobb, was built in 1892. The massive multi room, nine level maze can be a bit intimidating at first. With its gothic overtones, dark winding corridors and spiral staircases, it should come as no surprise that the space was once a downtown church.

Patrons and employees reported strange occurrences, such as glasses falling and shattering for no explainable reason. People claim that they saw a child and a woman wearing a red dress briefly appear before vanishing into thin air. Excalibur gained so much notoriety that it was featured on the History Channel's Haunted History program. Inside the venue are multiple rooms, two of which will feature bands from around the world. Every band will perform in a multi level room with state of the art lights and sound.
