Summary

The Great Atlantic Blues and Beyond Festival is the largest blues, arts, and culture festival in Atlantic Canada. This festival will take place at the Alderney Landing Complex in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The event will feature three days of blues, R&B, soul and many other genres at three venues - Main Stage, Theatre Stage, and Ferry Terminal Park. The main stage and theatre will host internationally respected artists from across North America, such as The Legendary Johnny Winter, The Howling Charlie Musselwhite - With a special performance by John Hammond, 2008 Grammy Nominee Bettye LaVette, former Bluesbreaker Coco Montoya, Nappy Brown and his Orchestra, The Duke Robillard Band, Big Bill Morganfield, Dawn Tyler Blues Project, Taj Mahal’s Phantom Blues Band, John Campbell, Roy Rogers and the Delta Rhythm Kings, Samuel James, and many more!



This year, Great Atlantic Blues and Beyond Festival is now accepting submissions for performance consideration on their acoustic side stage. This is a great opportunity to play along side some of the most recognizable names in blues and beyond. Artists will be compensated for their performances, however all details will be negotiated at the time of booking. With a global focus, this year’s Festival will attract audiences from Atlantic/Central Canada, New England, Iceland, and the UK.

Terms And Conditions

It is agreed by Great Atlantic Blues & Beyond Festival/Great Atlantic Productions and ___________________________
(artist, management and/or agency) that the clauses listed below either supersede and are in addition to the standard contracts and/or riders clauses provided by an Agency on behalf of the Artist and/or their Management. The Great Atlantic Blues & Beyond Festival/Great Atlantic Productions herein is the Purchaser.

SPECIAL CLAUSES:
A. Great Atlantic Blues & Beyond Festival (GABBF)/Great Atlantic Productions (GAP) will provide ground transportation, hotels for 2 nights, backline and professional assistance. A hospitality suite will be provided for all Artists on the Festival site.

B. Performance Length: a one-hour performance for the Festival. TBD for concerts. Please see offer/contract for specific time, date and length of performance.

C. Radius/time Clause: GABBF/GAP will require a 300 miles radius clause within Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland); this does not include Northeast United States, for six weeks prior to the contracted date with GABBF, unless events are produced by Great Atlantic Productions.

ARTIST BILLING AND PROMOTION:
A. All Artist shall receive equal billing, other than the three headlining Acts performing the last show of each day. All Artists shall otherwise receive prominent billing and will be included in all marketing products and media promotion

B. Should the Artist management enter into an agreement with radio, television or other media, for recording, for public broadcast of the Artists performance, at the Great Atlantic Blues & Beyond Festival/Great Atlantic Productions (the Purchaser) shall receive 15% of the fees paid to the Artist management by the broadcaster or any other party responsible for paying the fees to the Artist management. Payment is due, in cash, certified check or bank draft, upon completion of the recorded performance.

PAYMENT AND TICKETING:
A. Purchaser guarantees that the contracted amount of payment represents the actual amount to be paid to ARTIST, and PURCHASER assumes all financial responsibility for taxes and border fees (receipts must be provided to the Purchaser). The Purchaser will not be responsible for paying any withholding monies required by the Canada Revenue Agency, but will collect the fees and submit them on behalf of the Artist.

B. Purchaser agrees to make available to Artist at no charge to Artist up to ten (10) general admission one-day passes, on the day of the Artists performance, for Artist's guests at the request of Artist's Representative.

DRESSING ROOM for the Festival:
A. Dressing rooms must be accessible prior to the performance and for a reasonable time upon completion of her performance.

B. A Hospitality suite will be provided on-site and secure for the Artists and their entourage. Food and beverage selection will be representative of the riders from all Artists.

SOUND SYSTEM AND STAGE:
A. Due to city by-laws, overall volume levels will be the responsibility of the Festival.

B. There will be a 15-minute stage turn around during the Festival. Sound Checks will not necessarily be available. The Festival will make every effort to ensure the production meets the Artists expectation. Production quality and management will be of the highest quality. The Festival will rotate the Artists equipment onto the stage in a timely manner to ensure the Festival remains on schedule.

MERCHANDISING:
A. Artist shall have the sole and exclusive right, but not obligation to sell souvenir posters, programs and all other merchandise directly pertaining to and/or bearing the likeness of Artist, inclusive of phonograph records, at the performance hereunder and to retain 85% of the receipts there from. Purchaser shall not use the likeness of Artist in any way other than to promote the engagement of Artist hereunder. Accordingly, Purchaser is prohibited from selling any merchandise (e.g. posters, t-shirts, etc.) bearing the name and/or likeness of Artist or any member of Artist. It is the sole responsibility of Purchaser to enforce this clause.
