The Great Waters Folk Festival is a three-day folk festival featuring some of the top traditional and contemporary folk artists from across the United States, Canada and beyond. The festival has been hailed as the "Best Bet in Folk Music" for the month of July by WBUR-FM Boston and selected as one of the Boston Globe's "favorite upcoming small festivals".

This year’s festival will be held July 28-30, 2006 with the main stage located on the shore of beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

In its fifth year, the festival includes afternoon concerts and workshops, harbor cruises, songwriting contests, a gospel concert, after hour jam sessions and more. More than 45 artists play the festival on four stages for three days. Last year’s festival attendance was 2,500!

Artists who have performered in the past include: Nanci Griffith & the Blue Moon Orchestra, Arlo Guthrie, Natalie MacMaster, Del McCoury, Richie Havens, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Dar Williams, Chris Smither, Richard Shindell, Harry Manx, Christine Lavin Ruthie Foster, The Mammals, April Verch, Redbird (Kris Delmhorst, Jeffrey Foucault, Peter Mulvey) and David Jacobs-Strain.

There is at least one slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist. Selected artists will be compensated for their performance.
