Summary
Groovy Mondays Open Stage and Concert Series was formed in 2001 to celebrate the vibrant arts scene, unite music communities and provide live performance opportunities to all levels of artists of any genre from amateur to professional. Long-time sponsors & supporters include: CIUT 89.5 FM, Long & McQuade Musical Instruments and Amato Pizza.
The series takes place every Monday night at the NOW Lounge, located at 189 Church Street in downtown Toronto. It is a pay-what-you-can event and the format of the evening is as follows:
8pm Open Stage Sign-up (2 songs per act)
8:30pm Music Starts
10-10:30pm Feature Performer
10:30-Midnight Open stage continues
There are door prizes, visual art displays, artist workshops and ongoing special events that make the night extra groovy!
Artists chosen to be featured performers are financially compensated for their 30 minute performance through a percentage of the door.
