Heartland Cafe (IL) Winter

Heartland Cafe has been a strong voice in food, politics, music, and community since 1976. We are the “Heart of Rogers Park” and the home to birthdays, first dates and families and friends gathering to share a meal, a beer, and music. We are the home to political gatherings, live music, spoken word poetry and a weekly radio show. We host political canvassing, voter registration and work hard to encourage civic engagement with our neighbors. We're currently looking for Sonicbids artists this winter! 

The Heartland Bar is a live music venue featuring live music and events nightly. We're currently looking for bands that create music that reflects the current state of society, economics, and system. If you have a voice of change and want to part of a movement for positive social change, this is the venue for you!

We're open to most genres except country and pop. Bands applying must have a strong stage presence and know how to engage the crowd. Please only apply if your music has subject matters dealing with positivity and uplifting the community.  

We're looking for bands of all genres that play original music. We love Rock, Jazz, Folk, Acoustic, Country, Blues and Soul acts, but we're open to all genres if it's good music

Bands must be actively playing shows 

Bands must be willing to heavily promote the show if chosen to play

Bands are able to sell merch on-site

All acts applying must meet the criteria that we look for, lyrics, stage presence, style and artists must have a fanbase

Acts must have a solid online presence 

• Our compensation is based on a band to band basis and consists of door deals and guarantees
• Heartland's capacity is 75-150 people
• Must be able to draw at least 25 - 30 
• We have a  full backline and PA system
• All bands keep 100% of their merch sales
• Bands get drink tickets and discounts of food
