Cherry Orchard Records Presents: Heavy Hitters Vol. 1

Cherry Orchard Records is a division of Cherry Orchard Entertainment, LLC., based in Pittsburgh, PA. With the recent success of Cherry Orchard Music Group (Artist Management & Music Publishing), they are now expanding to incorporate an independent record label that will seek to promote artists ready to take their craft to the next level.



Cherry Orchard Records is excited to create a compilation CD of original music as one of their first projects in 2008! The goal is to present the best East Coast hip-hop and R&B artists on Sonicbids to people in the industry that can create a buzz for their music. Three selected Sonicbids artists do not have to pay any additional fees!



The three Sonicbids artists that will be chosen for this compilaton under a fee waiver will be selected based on originality and overall strength of their music as compared to other artist submissions by Cherry Orchard Records staff members.



Submissions are open to Hip-Hop and R&B artists with original songs that can move the crowd. This compilation, unlike most others, targets the club DJ in particular. DJs have traditionally been the catalyst in urban music to jumpstart many careers.



Compilation CDs and MP3s will be distributed to more than 1,000 DJs participating in Record Pools in select US metropolitan areas. This will allow your music to be played in larger venues, and most DJs provide feedback. Feedback for the compilation will be shared on the Cherry Orchard Records website, and feedback for the individual artist will be shared via personal email.



Artists will not receive compensation. However, each artist will receive 10 copies of the CD to sell or give away for promotional purposes. Artists also have the opportunity to purchase additional CDs (while supplies last) at 50% off the retail price. Artists maintain all copyrights and publishing rights to their music.



Cherry Orchard Records will run a full 6-week promotional campaign to support the album release to include a press release, compilation one-sheet, and several email blasts to their large industry network.



Please note: Musicians selected to participate on the CD must pay a $200 participation fee. This fee is used to help defray the cost of mastering, duplication, graphic design, packaging, and shipping of 1,000 CDs. No more than two tracks by any one artist will be allowed on the compilation.
