Summary

The Intersection and Rocket Entertainment Group have partnered in creating this event to help develop a tradition that will give high school age kids a chance to really grow their musical talents and keep them involved in music. This event creates a competition style atmosphere that gets the bands working for the next three months in promoting their bands, selling tickets, and practicing nightly to win. Bands selected represent schools from Grand Rapids to Holland and Kalamazoo to Big Rapids. The Battle begins in November at the Intersection, Doors are at 4pm, show begins at 5pm. This event creates a competition style atmosphere that gets the bands working in promoting their bands, selling tickets, and practicing nightly to win. Bands selected represent schools from Grand Rapids to Holland and Kalamazoo to Big Rapids. The Battle begins in November at The Intersection, doors at 4 and show begins at 5pm. Local celebrities will be judging the event.

Selected artists receive:


  • $2500 in cash and prizes to the winner plus studio time

  • Rocket Entertainment has agreed to pair up with the winning band for a period of six months to further develop their involvement in the musical community.

  • Artists will have countless opportunities to perform in front of 1000's of people in events such as 'Celebration on the Grand' and 'Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts'

Please note: Your band must have at least 50% of it's members in high school, and artists must be from the West Michigan area. Artists must be able to pick up and pre-sell tickets to the event to help gain attendance and votes for their band. In the past winners have averaged 150+ tickets pre-sold.
