Summary

Looking to break into the music business? Well this is your chance to strut your stuff in front of industry professionals that can change your life! HitStreet Records, partnered with SixStrung Publishing and Old Matthews Bar and Grill, are looking for the next big act to push!



Whether you are a band, singer/songwriter, karaoke singer or instrumentalist, they are looking for you! HitStreet is offering a full recording deal to their winning act, and management and/or recording opportunities for the finalists. So get your act ready to participate in the best talent search to hit the Northwest!



The Talent Search will take place at Matthews Bar and Grill in Spokane, WA for 5 consecutive Saturdays beginning September 15, 2007. Winners will be chosen to move to the next round each night of the competition. Dwight Finney, F.O.H., lighting designer, producer, will be at the controls making sure artists look and sound their very best! HitStreet believes artists deserve a high level production system, so they are including a 24 channel monitor system.



Not only that, after each performance, artists will receive a 10 minute sit down with the judges to have their act evaluated by HitStreet's established industry pros! They are musicians too, and want you to succeed in this industry. They would love nothing more than to be the team that gets you there.



All acts under the age of 21 will be able to perform before 9pm, and will need to leave the premises after 9pm. Acts must not be currently signed to a record company, management deal or developmental deal. Each act will be given a set of up to 30 minutes at the artist's discretion to perform. Artist will be given 15 minute tear down and set up. Acts that take longer will be penalized in their judging.



Please note: There is a registration fee of $150 if selected to participate in the Talent Search. This includes 15 tickets to the event which the act can sell for recoup, hand out for support or for giveaways. One (1) selected Sonicbids artist will have the full $150 inclusion fee waived. Four (4) selected Sonicbids artists will pay a reduced inclusion fee of $75.



Artists will be competing for the following prizes:



Grand Prize

  • (1) 5 song fully produced and mastered EP at HitStreet Records. 1 year, artist opt out, management contract which includes shopping to labels both Major and Indie, Licensing Firms, Publishing Firms, Radio Stations, and Booking Agents. (Valued at $17,500 U.S)



    2nd Prize

  • (1) 3 Song fully produced and mastered EP at HitStreet Records. 6 month, Artist opt out, management contract which includes shopping to labels both Major and Indie, Licensing Firms, Publishing Firms, Radio Stations and Booking Agents. (Valued at $10,500 U.S.)



    3rd Prize

  • (1)1 Song fully produced and Mastered at HitStreet Records. (Valued at $2,500 U.S.)



    Judges for the HitStreet Records Talent Search include:



  • John Michael Bolan - John Michael has an incredible background in the music business. Not only is he a regular on stage pickin' the blues throughout the region, he also spent the majority of his career touring in monster bands such as Iron Butterfly, Mount Rushmore, Sam The Sham Samudio, D.K. Stewart, No Mean Feet, and The Chambers Bros. Bolan has also recorded with CBS and Paramount Records.



  • Michael Schettler - Michael is an accomplished musician in his own right and has recorded and co-engineered in L.A and Nashville. He has been in the music business as a performer, producer, songwriter, engineer for over 30 years. Michael owned and operated Mercury Productions, an Audio/Video production facility as well as one of the largest sound and lighting companies in the Northwest doing venues such as Spokane Arena, The Met, North Idaho College, and Many Local Clubs. Outdoor festivals included most all county fairs in the Northwest as well as Art on the Green, Pig Out in the Park, Neighbor Days and many other live venues in the Northwest and Canada.



  • Jerad Finck - Award Winning Singer/Songwriter and President of A&R at HitStreet Records. He has recorded and worked alongside multi-platinum, Grammy-winning producer Scott Mathews (Clapton, Cash, Costello, The Beach Boys etc), done work at the Prestigious Abbey Road Studios in England with Steve Rooke (he did all the Beatles...) and has received national recognition from labels, magazines, and listeners alike. Jerad is also fully endorsed by Seagull Guitars and has established many connections in the industry for up and coming talent.



  • Dwight Finney - Dwight is a extremely talented production and sound engineer and has worked with some of the industries best! Dwight is a ten year voting member of the Grammy's and has ran sound and production for Aerosmith, Def leppard, R.E.O. Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Canned Heat, Steppen Wolf, and Pink Floyd just to name a few. His years of hands on experience is truly something sought after in the industry today.



    HitStreet understands that every performer can have a bad night. If your act is not chosen to move on to then next round, you may re-enter the competition at a reduced rate of $50 as many time as you like provided there is a performance time available left in the competition. Acceptance of a re-entry is at the sole discretion of the Promoter.



    Please Note: HitStreet Records Talent Search requires all ‘selected’ artists to pay an extra fee of $150 directly to the promoter in order to participate. Exceptions are one (1) Sonicbids artist who will have the entire fee waived, and four (4) Sonicbids artists who will have half this fee waived.

    To enter, simply read these conditions, complete and submit the registration, and pay your entry fee, $150. This includes 15 tickets to the event which the act can sell for recoup, hand out for support or for giveaways! Cover charge for scheduled events will be $5. (Please note: enter as soon as you can, the promoter cannot guarantee placement of late entries, entry before Aug 25th, 2007 guarantees placement in the contest).
    Only one entry per Act. No refunds for cancellations. The promoter reserves the right to accept or reject entries at their absolute discretion.

    Acts are, but not limited to, bands, singer/songwriters, karaoke vocalists and instrumental soloists. We are looking for the best of the best to record, produce, manage and get out to the world.

    Judging will be based on Musicianship, Stage presence and Crowd Reaction. Judges will be from HitStreet Records.

    PA system, microphones, drums and sound engineer will be provided by HitStreet Records. Acts are required to provide all their own instruments, back line equipment i.i., amps, keyboards, guitars etc. Karaoke singers are required to supply their own music.

    Acts must be available to play at designated dates anytime between the start dates and final dates. The Act must also be available to perform at the Final in September of 2007.

    Acts are to be available for promotional commitments as required, to be arranged from time to time.

    The promoter accepts no responsibility for incomplete entries, or those lost or delayed for any technical or other reason. Acts will be informed by the Promoter after entering of their acceptance or ineligibility of their performance.

    The Act agrees to allow the Promoter to record, film and/or photograph the performance(s) of the band. The Promoter owns the copyright in these recordings and images.

    At all times during the competition, & subsequent promotion of the competition, the Act agrees to act in a professional manner that supports and reaffirms the reputation of the Promoter and Sponsoring Companies, ie Clear Channel, Old Matthews, SixStrung Publishing and HitStreet Records. To this end the Promoter reserves the right to cancel any band where this reputation is under threat by actions from any band member or associate.

    Prizes are non-transferable

    The Winning acts from each night will be announced at the conclusion of the day's event. Judge's decisions are final. The winning Acts will receive further details following their win, regarding placement in the Finals.

    The Promoter reserves the right to terminate or temporarily suspend the competition in the event of technical difficulties that might compromise the integrity of the event.

    Neither the Promoter, Label or Venue accept any responsibility for personal injury to any acts or members therein by but not limited to fire, shock, acts of God or otherwise uncontrollable circumstances.

    The terms and conditions are governed by Wa Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Wa Courts.

    All rules and regulations are subject to change at the sole discretion of HitStreet Records or Promoter.

    By entering the event, all participants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
