Summary

The Home County Folk Festival was formed in 1973. Over the past 33 years, the festival has grown and evolved to become one of the few free folk festivals in Canada. The festival has up to 150,000 people from London Ontario and the USA attending each year.

This festival is a 3-day event in beautiful Victoria Park held on July 20 – 22, 2007. Home County features local, regional and national folk musicians and dancers alongside one of the largest arts and crafts shows. The festival also provides a dining experience offering a variety of ethnic and local foods operated by a volunteer board and coordinators with the assistance of about 200 volunteers.

Local and national artists are encouraged to submit since artists from all over Canada and the US are premiered at the festival. Compensation is negotiable at the time of booking along with any lodging and other accommodations. Bands do not need a local draw to submit, but for local artists, this does help in the selection process in regards to placement at the festival.

Funds to operate Home County Folk Festival are raised through the vendorsÂ’ fees paid by craft artists and food vendors, grants from the local, provincial and federal governments, goods sold by Home County donations by the audience and corporate sponsorship, as well as concerts held throughout the year.
