Summary
The For the Sake of the Song Music Series takes place every Tuesday at the Horseshoe, a Texas BBQ joint with live music & cold beer in Chicago, IL. On the weekends, Horseshow features rockabilly, surf, country, southern rock, hillbilly, swing, bluegrass, punk, indie, blues, Americana, roots, psychobilly and cowpunk acts and bands. On Tuesdays, the music series cultivates a singer/songwriter acoustic night, offering a great place for artists and bands to get their foot in the door.
Roughly three acts are booked per night, and shows are booked one month in advance. It is helpful if artists submitting have a local draw in Chicago. Artists perform 45 minute- 1 hour sets and are provided with a PA system, microphones, stands and a DI box as well as a sound engineer.
Artists are compensated in the form of tips and 100% of their merch sales. While primarily local acts are presented, they would be happy to feature regional and touring acts as well.
