Local artists, bands and singer/songwriters are highly encouraged to submit to this opportunity. Tickets for the general public can be purchased here

The festival is also looking to attract nationally touring artists who want to be involved in supporting our charity music festival. To support those artists willing to travel from a greater distance outside the Middle Tennessee region, two artists will be compensated for their travel up to $250 each to be negotiated upon selection. Local and regional artists will be donating their performances to help raise money and awareness for Autism.

There is an outdoor stage for Artists and Bands and 2 inside acoustic performers corners. A sound and lighting system and a sound engineer will be provided at the venue, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and any additional equipment. Drums will be provided if needed as well as a number of amplifiers on site which we will coordinate for you if selected. Each band MUST have a rider and stage plot in their EPK.

The music festival will host 10 bands performing on the outside main stage and 10 acoustic artist performing at an indoor stage area and 3 acoustic artists performing at the Kids Corner stage.

At least 4 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform on the main stage, at least 3 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform at the acoustic stage.

Attendees will enjoy LIVE MUSIC, the annual "2012 Aut 2 Be Kids Motorcycle Ride", a live auction, mud trucks, an antique & import car show/cruise-in, a bull-riding competition, activities for children, food and art vendors, and more! Events are subject to be changed and may include a professional rodeo event.

All music performed must be family friendly and free of explicit content. Ninety percent of the proceeds from the festival will go to the Bedford County Association for Exceptional Students (BCEAS), Inc, a 501c3 Tennessee charity and 10% of the proceeds will go to the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee (ASMT) for research and development into finding the cause of Autism, which now affects 1 out of 100 children!

Attendance for our first-ever festival is expected to be anywhere from 400-2,000 festival goers. We hope many more will attend!

Proceeds will go to support children with Autism in a multi-county area. In 1970, one out of 100,000 children were diagnosed with Autism. In 1980, the number increased to 1 out of 10,000. In 1990, the number had exponentially grown to one out of 1,000 children. Autism is now an epidemic! One out of 100 children worldwide are diagnosed with Autism. Your support help funds a great organization which provides FREE year-round activities and support for our Middle Tennessee families with Autism. Supporters are encouraged to make donations out to the Bedford County Association for Exceptional Students, Inc, a 501c3 Tennessee charity or by contacting them at email bcaes@live.com.

Elympic Entertainment is a small independent record label and publisher in Nashville, TN, which has released one EP album by The Ghost Ballerinas and is scheduled to release the band's 11-song sophomore album in April, 2012.

WHY A MUSIC FESTIVAL?

The Ghost Ballerinas had intended for their next album to be called either, "O.D. on Happiness" or "Play Me on the Radio", which are songs on their soon-to-be-released sophomore album. While searching online for paintings for their next album cover they came across an incredible painting called, "Double Shot of Happiness", which they felt would be the perfect cover. After reaching out to the artist, Tim Sharp, they found out he was a young 23-year old Autistic artist from Australia. Immediately, Tim agreed to work with them. The band thought it would be special to ask Tim to make the final decision on the name of the album and he chose "Play Me on the Radio". Tim then created a brilliant album cover for the band that far exceeded their expectations. After establishing a relationship with Tim that is destined to last a lifetime, the band felt inspired to create this event to help a great organization which is providing support free of charge for the Autism community in our area.

Tim Sharp is know worldwide for his brilliant, quirky and colorful artwork. When he was 11 years old, he created the superhero cartoon character "Laser Beak Man" which has been made into an animated TV series in Australia. As a thank you to Tim, who has been a beacon of light for so many who, like him, live with Autism, The Ghost Ballerinas wrote the song, "Laser Beak Man" featured as Song #1 on their album. They incorporated many of the quirky titles of Tim's paintings into the lyrics and made Tim co-writer on the song:) 50% of the profits from the song, Laser Beak Man, will be shared with Tim. It takes strength for families to cope with Autism and Tim's family is no exception. Tim's mother Judy is a strong woman, determined to provide the best for her family. Tim's brother, Sam is no exception. He is an Australian swimmer who recently competeted in the Australian Olympic trials in March, 2012. If they can raise the funds for travel, Tim Sharp and his family are planning on coming to the US in August to be a part of our festival!
