Summary

Independent’s Day 2004 (ID 2004) is a one day music conference geared toward unsigned artists, producers and labels on how independent artists can put out their own project using the resources available in their community. This year's event will be held at Studio 202 in Washington, DC on Saturday, July 31. There are 10 showcase slots available - and all artists have they opportunity to be included on the ID 2004 Compilation.



One of the ten showcasing bands will be selected to receive a series of complimentary and reduced cost professional services that will help them release their own record. Prizes are valued at over $10,000 and include:

-Professional Marketing Plan by Marketing Pros

-Professional 5 page Website by Sandaleo.com

-2 Full Page Ads in Experience Reality Magazine

-2 Free Tracks from Michael Dunklin, Keyboardist and Producer for the go-go band, Backyard

-10 hours of studio time at Studio 202

-Featured on the Independent’s Day Compilation CD

-Scheduled performance at Between Friends Night Club in Washington, DC

-$500.00 cash



Music industry professionals from Washington, DC, New York and surrounding areas will be on hand to educate aspiring musicians on how to put out an independent project, market their brand and sell their records to their target audience. The day consists of six panels, two unsigned showcases, power networking, afterparty and more. Event sponsors include Experience Reality Magazine, Sonicbids and more.



Genres accepted include Hip-Hop, R&B and rap.
