Summary

Champlain Motion Pictures is currently seeking original, professionally recorded songs to be used in its next upcoming independent feature film production, The Cthulhu Chronicles. They need 10 to 15 songs, and are reserving 2 of those slots for Sonicbids artists.

Songwriters will retain ownership over their materials and will receive a basic flat fee license. The film is currently in post-production and is targeted for release before the end of 2009. It is directed by Jayson Argento and features Rusty DeWees (The Logger) as well as Luis Guzman.

The Cthulhu Chronicles is a dramatic sci-fi/horror film in the vein of The X-Files and inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Champlain Motion Pictures is currently accepting submissions for two musical cues.

The first Sonicbids slot is reserved for an opening scene, where a song will be playing on a car radio driven by two teenagers. The mood of this song should be intimate and positive; an innocent love song that does not betray the fate the teenagers are about to encounter.

Another required song is one that will help describe a scene filled with urgency and foreboding, providing added tension and foreshadowing of bad things to come. The musical genre of this selection will likely have a harder edge, but all genres will be considered here, as we are always open to surprises and new ideas. Score pieces will also be considered for this selection.

There will not be royalty payments, however songwriters will be given full screen credit and provided with a copy of the finished product. If a soundtrack album is produced, artists featured in the film and selected through Sonicbids will be given preference for inclusion, though this will be governed by a separate agreement.
