Summary

The annual Indie Music Cares benefit concert will be at the legendary Whisky a Go-Go in West Hollywood, California. They are locking in Thursday, August 15, 2013, which is the anticipated first night of the Sunset Strip Music Festival. The Whisky is one of the pillar venues for the festival, and access to the festival is through a gate in front of the Whisky.

The event will run from 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., with one slot allotted for an opening band, two slots open for supporting bands, and one slot open for a headlining band.

Bands will split merch sales 70/30 with the Whisky. (For 2012, the Whisky pledged their 30% to the charity of the year, CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT.) Any financial compensation to performing bands will be negotiated per anticipated band draw.

Indie Music Cares is a collaboration of music enthusiasts, musicians and industry professionals, who organize and promote fundraising events for charity. Each year, a different non-profit charitable organization is chosen as the primary “pet project” for the year. The selected charity is ideally (but not necessarily) a 501(c)(3), and 100% of the money raised remains in North America. Children are our future; therefore, preference is given to charities which aid under-served children.
