Summary
Submit today to be nominated for The Indies - the 7th Annual Independent Music Awards. The spirit and success of independent music is stronger and louder than ever. Hundreds of artists who don't fit in with the ever-narrowing radio formats are none-the-less breaking through to a hungry public and winning the support of fans, media and tastemakers around the world. These artists will be honoured at the Canadian Music Week Festival with the public presentation of The Indies.
Past years' winners have included The Arcade Fire, Bedouin Soundclash, City and Colour, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, The Trews, Interpol, Alexisonfire, Kataklysm, Death From Above 1979, Hot Hot Heat, Default, The Weakerthans, Fidgital, and Dashboard Confessional to name a few.

International categories are open to all artists; however, the rest of the categories are only open to Canadian artists. Artists may submit to multiple categories (there is a separate fee for each category nomination).
Eligibility Criteria
An Artist must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant. At least 50% of the Group or Duo must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. 50% of the nominee's songwriting and recording must be 100% Canadian. Exceptions: International Group or Duo, International Solo Artist, International Album, International Single, International Breakthrough Artist/Group or Duo, and International Video. Submissions must have been released between May 1, 2005 and November 1, 2006.
Please note that EPKs that are not complete by November 30, 2006 will not be considered and will not be refunded. For this purpose, a complete EPK consists of a bio, photo, music, contact information and where applicable, a video and/or website.
