Summary

Want to be part of a great NEW Indie festival? The 2nd annual INDIE WEEK is dedicated to showcasing Indie artists. Unlike other music festivals, INDIE WEEK will not have any label showcases, agency nights, etc. Bands will be chosen solely on applications. Every application will get reviewed and judged based on presentation, professionalism and quality (song writing, performance, and production - songwriting will take the highest merit as we all know that not everyone can afford top end studios). Sponsors include Jagermeister, Amsterdam Brewery, eye Weekly, with more to come!

Here are some cool things about INDIE WEEK:

* Bands/Artists can GET PAID - NEW - Each participating band will be given 10 wristbands which they can sell for up to $10.
* Bands are allowed to sell their merch and are encouraged to take part in the afternoon All-ages merch fair on Saturday Sept 24.
* $5 from EACH entry fee will be added to the Grand Prize to go to the band voted with highest marks during the festival.
* Bands will receive the reviews of their packages - feedback which hopefully will help to make their package even better.
* Bands/Artists have a chance to meet industry insiders at our "industry schmooze" on Thurs Sept 22. Last year A & R Universal, Linus Entertainment, Iguana Studios, Chart Magazine, The Agency, Weir Management, C Squared Productions, Spill Magazine, Soulshine.com and many others were in attendance.
* Artists run INDIEWEEK so we know what it's all about and what we think is missing from other festivals (we really do like the festivals that are out there but think that there is more room for Indie artists as many of the festivals showcase talent that is already signed).
* Acts that have applied may have a chance to perform at other shows outside of INDIE WEEK
* INDIE WEEK is designed so that there is something for each act on each day. Industry Schmooze (THURS SEPT 22), SHOWCASES (FRI SEPT 23), MERCH FAIR (SAT SEPT 24).
* We are gathering up some great prizes to offer the band with the highest votes during the showcases.

We are proud to announce the addition of THE POCKET STUDIO and MARK MAKOWAY (guitar player for MOIST, producer, and author of The Indie Bible) to our sponsors list. The top voted local band for INDIE WEEK 2005 will win 20 Hours of Studio Time at THE POCKET STUDIO with Mike Turner (original guitarist for OUR LADY PEACE).

PRIZE CATEGORIES will be:
• top voted acoustic/pop act
