Summary

Celebrating it's 10th anniversary of showcasing the best in independent talent in 2013, Indie Week has become one of Canada's premiere indie music festivals showcasing 200+ acts from all over the world in front of music industry professionals. Indie Week Canada takes place in Toronto, Canada's largest music industry market, in 16+ venues over 5 nights offering 45+ showcases, late last call after parties serving until 4am, and sponsored stages.


Sponsored stages for 2012 included:


  • The MONSTER PRODUCTS stage featured KO, DJ LDontheCut (Sublime with Rome), The Stanfields, Gloryhound, Rebel Emergency

  • The BIG TICKET stage hosted by Maestro Fresh West

  • The Coalition Entertainment stage hosted by Human Kebab from USS

  • The Epiphone Showcase featured Magneta Lane, The Mahones, The Suburbians,
    and the Ascot Royals.



Performing artists will receive 1 swag bag per act (estimated value: $75), Wristbands for each performer and crew which allows entry to all shows during Indie Week (value: $40 each), Conference Passes for each performer and crew which allows entry to industry panels which take place each afternoon Thurs - Sat of Indie Week (value: $80 each).

In addition to your judged showcase, other opportunities could include extra shows on sponsored stages or late night parties during Indie Week, shows outside of Indie Week (in 2012 Indie Week acts also participated in Gibson Guitar VIP parties, Red Gorilla Music Fest in Austin TX during SXSW, sonaBlast! Toronto Film Festival party and more), and/or performances at the Indie Week Queen St Block party, merch fair during Indie Week, etc...

One act will be selected by a panel of music industry judges during the
finals at Indie Week as the "Best of the Fest" and will be invited to
headline Indie Week Ireland 2014 (April) with flights and accommodations
for up to 5 bands members provided for by INDIE WEEK (flights/accoms for
band members only)

Media partners have included NOW Magazine, 102.1 The Edge, 101.5 The Wolf,
Rock 95, The WIre Magazine.

  • Final deadline - July 8, 2013

  • Early pricing ($20) for submissions until January 15. The submission fee will raise to $35 on January 16, 2013


Who can apply?
Any indie acts that is not signed directly to a MAJOR lable. acts signed to an indie label with major distribution ARE accepted

Artists travelling from outside Ontario- you will be booked for more than one show! Often international acts perform at least 3 times during the festival.

Special showcases
We are especially receptive to IRISH and EAST COAST bands -- we have hosted sold-out showcases for these every year! If we do receive enough
applications from a certain area we will consider creating a special
showcase (for example, Australian Showcase, etc.).
