On January 4, 2008, Inland Empire will roll out the red carpet for the most anticipated musical event of the season, it's the Inland Empire Music Awards, the IEMAs. Inland Empire Weekly will present an unforgettable celebration at the Riverside Auditorium. Every year, the Inland Empire Music Awards provides an opportunity to promote local musicians and showcase the mass musical talent found in the community. A portion of the proceeds generated by this evening's event will benefit Right to Rock, a non-profit organization that supports school music programs.

Over 30 categories will be awarded this evening – from “Best Pop Rock” to “Best Jazz.” Brown started the IEMAs in 2003 with the first show taking place at the Key Club in Morongo. From there, the show grew to play for “sold out” audiences and today Brown heads awards shows in other territories such as the Orange County Music Awards, Southern California Music Awards and even Canadian Music Awards.

A number of nominees and winners from past IEMA awards show have since been signed by a variety of record labels: This year, the IEMA's offer more than thirty submission categories covering the gamut of musical genres. The list includes, jazz, roots, country, classic rock, surf, world, blues, hip-hop, heavy metal, electronic, latin traditional, instrumental, latin contemporary, and much more. Awards will also be given out for Best Live Band, Best Acoustic (Male, Female and Group), Best Song, Best High School Band, and Best Male and Female performers.

Judges include representatives from across the entertainment industry – from music writers to radio DJs and record company executives – who carefully evaluate each of the submissions to determine the winners.
