Islands Singer Songwriter Contest 2011

The Cowichan Folk Guild, the same folks who produce the Islands Folk Festival, proudly present the very first "Islands Singer Songwriter Contest." Nine contest finalists will perform in front of a panel of music professionals and the entire audience on the opening Friday night of the 2011 Islands Folk Festival's main stage. Grand prize winner will receive a professionally produced and recorded version of their song courtesy of Woodshop Recording Studios, radio airplay and television interviews./n/nThe Cowichan Folk Guild, the same folks who produce the Islands Folk Festival, proudly present the second annual "Islands Singer Songwriter Contest." Here’s what the winning artists will get:

• Grand prize winner will receive a professionally produced and recorded version of their song courtesy of Woodshop Recording Studios, radio airplay and television interviews.



• An Islands Folk Festival performance during the closing ceremonies on Sunday afternoon.



• An award certificate and the career building bragging rights of being the 2011 Islands Singer Songwriter winner.



• First runner up recieves an Epiphone limited edition John Lennon, Casino guitar.


• Second Runner up receives a $250 gift certificate.

About the festival:



Now in its 27th year, The Islands Folk Festival is an annual celebration of music and culture. The event will be held in July 2011 on the beautiful grounds of Providence Farm, near Duncan, Vancouver Island, Canada.
