Summary

The Independent Singer-Songwriter Association (ISSA) Christian Songwriting Contest is a competition supporting the disciplines of songwriting, musicianship and performance in the independent music community. Contest grand prize winner receives $1,000./n/nThe Independent Singer-Songwriter Association (ISSA) Christian Songwriting Contest is an international competition supporting the disciplines of songwriting, musicianship and performance in the Christian independent music community. The main objective is to give independent singer-songwriters the opportunities to have their music heard and help them to establish a larger fan base.

Contest grand prize winner receives $1,000 in cash to help further their pursuits in music. Additionally, Sonicbids is providing a free yearly Supersonic membership to all category winners.

Songs are judged by diverse panel of judges including


  • Anne Catalino, Grammy and Dove Award-Winning Sound Engineer
  • Vidais Lovette, Music and Film Producer
  • Shyla Nibbe, Singer-Songwriter, Entrepreneur, Educator and Promoter

Songs are judged on composition, musicality, melody, marketability, lyrics and originality. Category nominees will be selected by ISSA staff at the end of each session. Category winners will be selected from nominees by fan vote. Grand prize winner will be selected from all nominees by the judging panel. Artists will be considered equally regardless of which session they submit to.

Songs can be submitted in 8 separate categories: Pop, Urban/R&B, Country, Rock, Hip-Hop/Rap, Gospel, Contemporary Christian, A Capella.
