Summary

Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse showcases artists on the first Friday of the month. Started in October of 1995, Jacob's is patterned after the original Jesus movement coffeehouses in the 1960s and 1970s. Compensation is provided, but varies depending on the artist, plus CD sales and Jacob’s asks that performers play one set for approximately 75-minutes in length.

With free admission, free snacks, free beverages, cafe-style round tables, and dimmed mood lighting, Jacob’s provides a unique performance atmosphere for artists and fans alike. Jacob's Well is held at the Ellington Wesleyan Church in Ellington, CT, which is a suburb about 18 miles northeast of Hartford. They accept many different musical styles within the context of "Christian" music. Jacob’s attracts an audience from about 25 area towns and cities.

Depending on the size of the group and anticipated audience, Jacob’s sets up in the fellowship hall, which has a capacity for about 100 people, or upstairs in the sanctuary, which has a capacity of about 200 people. Doors open at 7:30pm, with live performances beginning at 8:00pm. A Gospel message and invitation follows performances, then one more song by the performers to close.

Wherever possible, Jacob’s asks performers to bring their own PA system for best quality.
