Jam in the Dam is the only jam band festival to take place in Europe. It draws a large contingent of American fans, along with an increasing number of Europeans. It takes place at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, where there are two different stages under the same roof. Four headliners participate, and each plays a two-hour set, each night, in one of the two rooms. This yearÂ’s headliners are Yonder Mountain String Band, Keller Williams, Dark Star Orchestra and Galactic.

The third-annual show will take place March 18-20, 2007. Submisssions are welcome from jam bands, bluegrass, reggae and funk artists. At least one spot is reserved for a Sonicbids member from Europe and will receive a 40-minute set in one of the two rooms on a night to be determined and will be compensated $100. No travel or lodging is provided. This opportunity is specifically for European artists.

The event does not have any corporate sponsors, but is supported by JamBase, Relix, Drowning Creek Studios and posssibly others to be added.

Over the first two years, we hosted Umphrey's McGee, Disco Biscuits, Particle, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Benevento/Russo Duo, and Keller Williams. Last year's attendence was over 1,100 people.
