Summary
Relix Magazine's JAM OFF! is in its second year as a music competition for emerging artists. We are currently accepting submissions for a compilation CD to feature some of the best unsigned and undiscovered musicians in the scene. One GRAND PRIZE winner will receive a recording contract - courtesy of Hybrid Recordings (www.hybridrecordings.com)! Ten artists will be chosen to have their music included on a CD compilation which will be nationally distributed by Relix Magazine onsite at music festivals and venues around the country, and inserted with Relix Magazine. Winners also receive publicity on Relix.com and Jambands.com, and the opportunity to perform at a JAM OFF!
Please note: The JAM OFF! Winners Showcase, originally scheduled for May 19th, 2005 at the Lion's Den in New York City has been resheduled to September 15, 2005 at the same venue.. Winners will be chosen anonymously by a panel of judges based upon merit in five categories: Creativity, Musicianship, Originality, Songwriting & Style.
All genres accepted, however Relix Magazine is a publication dedicated to the Jamband and live improvisational music scene. Past winners include bands steeped in the traditions of Rock & Roll, Bluegrass, Funk, Roots, Americana and Jazz.
