The J&M Cafe is Seattle's oldest bar, established in 1889, remains a pinnacle in Seattle's long and exciting history. It is looking to book local to touring solo artists and bands to perform live on all nights of the week. The J&M Cafe welcomes all blues, jazz, Americana, folk, bluegrass and rockabilly artists. Here’s what selected artists get:

• Artists will be compensated. This amount will be negotiated at the time of booking.


• A sound system will be provided at the venue, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and any additional equipment.

About the venue:


The J&M, capacity 300, got its name from partners Jamieson and McFarland, who opened for business in Pioneer Square in 1892. They sold out years later and moved two doors north to its present location at 201 First Ave S. The J &M served as a gambling and dancing establishment for the men of the Gold Rush. Its ceiling is pressed tin, rumored to have been installed by Italian craftsmen. The bar-back is made of Austrian mahogany — transported around the Cape in the late 1890s.
