Joburg Burning

Joburg Burning is announcing the introduction of Pop Academy, a music conference of popular music, featuring a host of panels, seminars, master classes and networking sessions. Joburg Burning is a showcase of over 50 top South African artists from the live gigging circuit. Joburg Burning 5 will once again hit the Melville area over two nights, the 1st and 2nd April 2011. This event has become known as the premiere live music event on the Jozi rock calendar. Joburg Burning is looking to book mainstream pop/rock bands. Compensation will not be provided for bands, however all band members will receive badges to the conference panals/ shows throughout the whole weekend of the festival. Equipment and backline will be provided by the promoter. Joburg Burning will see over 50 bands playing at 5 different venues over the Friday and Saturday night. All band members must be 18 years and older.



Bands that performed before include: 340ml, Desmond and the Tutus, Zebra and Giraffe, Taxi Violence, Ashtray Electric, Fire through the Window, Dear Reader, Wrestlerish, Voodoo Child, Evolver One and many more.
