Summary

The Johnny Keenan Banjo Festival is a four-day music event in Longford, Ireland that celebrates Irish traditional and American bluegrass music. The 7th annual event is scheduled to take place September 25-28, 2008. The festival is named in memory of legendary Irish musician Johnny Keenan.



The festival is currently looking for bluegrass, folk, Irish traditional, celtic, country, Americanan, roots, and acoustic artists for performance. Positive performance may lead to paid appearances in future.



Fans come from all corners of the world come to attend the festival. Last year, over 4,000 attended the four-day event. There are street & pub sessions, open-air concerts, nightly sit-down concerts, late night jam sessions, and music workshops for all levels.
