To keep the true spirit of the space alive, there is a fully backlined stage and PA at the ready to be called into action.

On the first Thursday of every month, John Varvatos hosts a one hour showcase for one amazing band featuring:

John is the kind of guy who will tell you who really played bass on the second side of the 3rd Deep Purple album and in the very next sentence tell you about a hot new band out of Williamsburg that formed a few weeks ago. He knows music and knows Rock'n'Roll. So it is no surprise that the showcase is on the lookout for Classic Rock-inspired bands. Bands that take their cues from the Stones or Led Zep are all welcome. Music should be hard and fast not soft and mellow.

Keep in mind that these are the hallowed halls of the birth place of Punk. While it is a clothing store, by the time soundcheck time hits, you'd never know it. everything is packed up and moved to make room for the "rock" Tell your grandkids you played CBGB, just with a better PA.
