Summary

King Cat Christian Music is an organization that promotes the idea that artists succeed by promoting each other. The 11th Annual Song of the Year Contest will accept submissions over 4 three-month quarters. The Semi-Finalists from each quarter will go head to head for the final Grand Prize.


The Grand Prize package includes $200 cash, a KCCM membership, songwriting consultation with award-winning songwriter Kenny Gamble, promotion, and more.

Winner will be announced October 31, 2011.


One Grand Prize Winner Receives:


  • Trophy

  • $200

  • Opportunity to perform winning song at the 2012 KCCM Awards in April, 2012 in Kansas City

  • One (1) Year Members Pro with KCCM

  • One (1) Year free pass to Club D

  • Grand Prize Winner will be offered the opportunity to interview with Kenny Gamble to become one of the partner song contributors for BDBG Music.

  • Grand Prize Winner will have the option of a personal song writing consultation session with Award-Winning Songwriter and President of BDBG Music, Kenny Gamble.

  • One (1) year run on WOS Sunday Morning Christian Show (Female vocals only, radio quality only)

  • Banner on WOS site for one month (Female winner only)

  • Spotlight in WOS Newsletter (Female winner only)

  • Three months radio airplay on KCHA Angel 95 FM (Must be radio quality). Possibility of interviews as well


Four Semi-Finalist Winners Receive:

  • Three (3) month run on WOS Sunday Morning Christian Show (Female vocals only, radio quality only)

  • One month radio airplay on KCHA Angel 95 FM (must be radio quality)

Terms And Conditions

1. Each song submitted must be contestant's original work. Songs may not exceed five (5) minutes in length. Each song must be of a Christian nature. Songs may have multiple co-writers, but please designate one name only on the application. Contestant may submit as many songs in each Quarter as he/she wishes, but each entry requires a separate MP3 file, entry form, lyric sheet, and entrance fee. (Entrance fee is non-refundable. KCCM or any of its contractors are not responsible for faulty file uploads accompanying online entries.)

2. The KCCM Song of the Year Contest is conducting four (4) separate Semi-Finalist Quarter Contests during the 11th Annual Song of the Year Contest. There will be one (1) Semi-Finalist winner from each Quarter. The four (4) Semi-Finalist Quarter Winners will go head-to-head. The Grand Prize Winner will be determined by a panel of Christian Music Industry experts and an online voting competition to become the KCCM 11th Annual Song of the Year Grand Prize Winner. See List of Prizes which are continually updated.

3. Winners will be chosen by a select panel of judges comprised of noted songwriters, producers, and Christian music industry professionals. Songs will be judged based on melody, composition, originality and lyrics. The quality of performance and production will not be considered. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all writers of any song; division of prizes is responsibility of winners. Void where prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. KCCM reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.

4. Winners will be notified by email and must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility/recording rights/publicity release within 14 days of notification date. The affidavit will state that winners song is original work and he/she holds all rights to song. Failure to sign and return such affidavit within 14 days or provision of false/inaccurate information therein will result in immediate disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Affidavits for winners under 18 years of age at time of award must be countersigned by parent or legal guardian. Affidavits subject to verification by KCCM and its agents. Entry constitutes permission to use winners names, likenesses, and voices for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
