Summary

King Cat Christian Music is an organization that promotes the idea that artists succeed by promoting each other. The 13th Annual Song of the Year Contest will accept submissions over 3 three-month periods. The Semi-Finalists from each period will go head to head for the final Grand Prize. Winner will be announced April 1, 2014.

One Grand Prize Winner Receives:

KCCM has added a new Contest within the Song of the Year Contest! If you've ever entered a song in any of the previous contests and you enter either a revised version of your previously entered song or a brand new song, you will be entered into the new "Most Improved Songwriter" contest! The winner will receive:
  • An Hour Phone Consultation with Multi Dove-Award winner, Sue Smith. Sue is a writer with Brentwood

Terms And Conditions

1. Each song submitted must be contestant's original work. Songs may not exceed five (5) minutes in length. Each song must be of a Christian nature. Songs may have multiple co-writers, but please designate one name only on the application. Contestant may submit as many songs in each Quarter as he/she wishes, but each entry requires a separate MP3 file, entry form, lyric sheet, and entrance fee. (Entrance fee is non-refundable. KCCM or any of its contractors are not responsible for faulty file uploads accompanying online entries.)

2. The KCCM Song of the Year Contest is conducting three (3) separate Semi-Finalist Quarter Contests during the 13th Annual Song of the Year Contest. There will be one (1) Semi-Finalist winner from each Quarter as well as possible Honorary Mentions as determined by the judges. The three (3) Semi-Finalist Quarter Winners and any Honorary Mentions will go head-to-head. The Grand Prize Winner will be determined by a panel of Christian Music Industry experts and an online voting competition to become the KCCM 13th Annual Song of the Year Grand Prize Winner. 3. Winners will be chosen by a select panel of judges comprised of noted songwriters, producers, and Christian music industry professionals. Songs will be judged based on melody, composition, originality and lyrics. The quality of performance and production will not be considered. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all writers of any song; division of prizes is responsibility of winners. Void where prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. KCCM reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.

4. Winners will be notified by email and must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility/recording rights/publicity release within 14 days of notification date. The affidavit will state that winners song is original work and he/she holds all rights to song. Failure to sign and return such affidavit within 14 days or provision of false/inaccurate information therein may result in immediate disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Affidavits for winners under 18 years of age at time of award must be countersigned by parent or legal guardian. Affidavits subject to verification by KCCM and its agents. Entry constitutes permission to use winners names, likenesses, and voices for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
