The Keene Music Festival began in the summer of 2001 with a mission to lend support and inspiration to local and regional musicians through the creation and production of an annual, outdoor music festival and summer series. They encourage participation by musicians of diverse styles and backgrounds, and the presentation of original musical compositions. Selected artists will receive a free meal and an artist goodie bag.

Celebrating its ninth year, The Keene Music Festival will be held on September 5th, 2009 and expects to see up to 1,700 attendees over itÂ’s course. The festival will host 9-12 music stages, all featuring emerging artists, in the downtown and surrounding areas of Keene, New Hampshire. In addition to the actual festival, the Keene Music Festival staff also book talent for their Summer Series, in which artists perform in the downtown square every Friday, and some Saturdays of the summer. They are now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists for performance consideration at both The Keene Music Festival and the Summer Series.

The Keene Music Festival is truly a collaborative effort and endeavor. Thanks to the generosity of numerous contributors, it is one of the fastest growing free music festivals in New England. This is a great gig for any artist looking to perform at an intimate and compassionate music festival.

First, though we would never endorse censorship, the Keene Music Feistval is a family friendly event. So we hope you'll be senstive to little ears and minimize profanity and/or adult comments and behaviors whenever kids are around.

Second, our town has open container laws and the use of drugs and/or alcohol in public areas could land you in a heap o' trouble; so please plan accordingly.

Finally, this event is about celebrating all of the performers who take part in the event. We hope and want everyone to have a good time. We strive to treat everyone respectfully and hope that you do the same.
