The Keene Music Festival began in the summer of 2001. Their mission is to lend support and inspiration to local musicians through the creation and production of an annual, outdoor music festival. They encourage participation by musicians of diverse styles and backgrounds, and encourage the presentation of original musical compositions.

Celebrating its eighth year, The Keene Music Festival will be held on August 30th, 2008. They usually feature 6 to 7 simultaneous music stages in the downtown area of Keene, New Hampshire. In addition to the actual festival, the Keene Music Festival staff also book talent for their “Fridays Are For Music” series, in which artists perform in our downtown square every Friday of the summer. They are now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists for performance consideration at both The Keene Music Festival and the Fridays Are For Music series.

The Keene Music Festival is truly a collaborative effort and endeavor. Thanks to the generosity of numerous contributors, it is one of the fastest growing free music festivals in New England. This is a great gig for any artist looking to perform at an intimate and compassionate music festival.

Terms And Conditions

To be honest, we don't really have any serious rules. We do have some guidelines though.

We ask that you keep in mind that the Keene Music Festival is a family event; with parents and kids in abundance during both the formal festival and the Fridays are for Music Series. We respectfully ask that performers keep this in mind in both their music and their behavior; though we personally don't censor performers for any reason.

Performers should feel free to offer CDs and other product for sale at their shows; as long as our City Fathers & Mothers allow. We can also hook you up with a really cool record store or two in the area that will take on your stuff for consignment both the day of the festival and afterwards if you'd like.

In order to avoid performing rights complications (they seem to get a bit nuts about that 'round here), we ask that performers focus on original material. Artists should feel free to perform whatever they like, but need to be accountable if the song nazis show up....

We have no control over the weather, so events could be canceled or seriously mutated should it rain. You know what they say, water and electricity don't mix and Safety First.
