The first premier audition/showcase not offered by an alcohol distribution or club, but solely sponsored and produced by a record label is coming to Southern California. Killer Puppy Records, a strong independent label, is presenting "Are You The Top Dog?" to expand their artist roster and profile.

Rather than focus on the competition between bands, this is an event solely focused on discovering music talent. Since so much time is given just trying to get your foot in the door and slammed on, Killer Puppy Records is offering an opportunity to be discovered. Parameters are based on 4 simple criteria: Uniqueness (How different are you from other bands/ groups.); Musicianship (How well are the instruments played.); Dynamics (Refers not only to how the band plays together but also song arrangement and style); and Performance (How good is the live show.) Included in the simple criteria is your band/ group's ability to attract people, because honestly, no record label wants to finance an artist who does not have a draw or interest. Judging is based on the aforementioned criteria and will be critiqued by the A&R department of the label and a local music newspaper critique.

Bands/ groups, and artists from Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, and Ventura Counties are welcome to participate. Everything within the genres of alternative, goth, new age/ ambient, pop, rock, and punk are included. Twenty (20) slots are reserved for Sonicbids members.

"Are You The Top Dog?" will be held in 3 segments. Qualifying rounds or "Dog Pounds" will determine a semi-final round "Cage Match" with the Finals, "The Junkyard", held at a premier venue.

The event will be a 3 month long venture beginning in January and ending in April of 2007. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $1,000 cash, a development deal, and the possibility of being signed with Killer Puppy Records. First Runner Up will receive $750 in cash and a 3-song demo recording time. Second Runner Up will receive $500 in cash. The Development Deal not only includes the 3-song demo recording time, but also limited merchandise and image consultation. Acoustic Guitar is already a sponsor. Killer Puppy Records is the proud record label representative for The End of Silence.
