Pearson Lakes Art Center - Live Performance

The Pearson Lake Art Center (PLAC), Lauridsen Performing Arts Theatre, a music venue in Okoboji, IA, is seeking solo artists and bands for a July, 2011 opening, and after that, shows that occur twice per month. The performance is 90 minutes with one 20 minute break, and the selected artists will be compensated with $100 per artist plus free lodging and one free meal. The PLAC will contact artists for booking at least two months prior to the date of the show. There is limited backline at the venue – a sound system, including vocal mics, monitors and a sound person is available. Genres accepted include pop, jazz, blues, folk, rock, alternative, acoustic rock, etc. Past performers include Gaelic Storm, Roger McGuinn, Corey Stevens and Delfeay Marsalis.



The Pearson Lakes Art Center delivers educational programming to students of all ages through instructional classes, lectures and exhibitions; exposes community members to the numerous forms of art including, visual, music, drama, writing and film; serves as an advocate for the arts with partners in the schools and other neighboring organizations; and provides an important outlet for local and regional artists to exhibit and market their work. The Pearson Lakes Art Center is also fortunate to display the Pearson Art Collection.
