La Mar Sundays (Jul-Oct '11)

La Mar Sundays, taking place in Glenelg, South Australia, has quickly grown to become a grassroots community of Australian and local artists and music lovers. They are looking to book local to touring solo artists and bands to perform live on Sunday afternoons. La Mar Sundays welcomes all blues, funk, folk, reggae and roots artists. They looking to book at least 6 local to touring Sonicbids solo artists and bands to perform live on Sunday afternoons. La Mar Sundays welcomes all blues, funk, folk, reggae and roots artists.

Selected artists receive:

• Compensation negotiated at the time of booking.


• Two 45 minute sets dedicated to original music.


• Food and drinks the night of the show.


• A full sound and lighting system.

Please note: Bands are expected to publicize and advertise their show with La Mar Sundays. La Mar Sundays prefers for bands to play additional shows in Adelaide on the previous Thursday and Friday as opposed to the Saturday night.

The Glenelg Surf Lifesaving Club* (GSLSC) has been the driving force behind a new original music program outside of Adelaide’s CBD- known as *La Mar Sundays*. Together with our promotional partners *Surfing SA* we’re proud to present an exciting opportunity for Australian and International artists. With a name derived from its Latin and Polynesian roots signifying ‘the sea’, La Mar Sundays draws on the venue’s coastal appeal and sun-sand-sea-suds philosophy. Naturally, it has quickly grown to become a grassroots community of Australian artists and music lovers. Each Sunday afternoon the surf club comes alive with sangrias on the balcony, free live music, gourmet pizzas and priceless sunsets. We invite you to become a part of our journey.
