Summary

Landmark Events is a Montreal based promotion company planning concert events exclusively in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa (Canada). This year, LME presents Landmark Showcase Competition 2011, held at Club Soda and Le National (Montreal), Mod Club and Opera House (Toronto), Mavericks and Capital City Music Hall (Ottawa). This event is a band competition, a showcase, and a kick ass show at an amazing venue all in one. Last year's event averaged 900 people per show, and this year could be even bigger./n/nLandmark Events is a Montreal based promotion company planning concert events exclusively in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa (Canada). This year, LME presents Landmark Showcase Competition 2011, held at Club Soda and Le National (Montreal), Mod Club and Opera House (Toronto), Mavericks and Capital City Music Hall (Ottawa). This event is a band competition, a showcase, and a kick ass show at an amazing venue all in one. Last year's event averaged 900 people per show, and this year could be even bigger. Preliminary event rounds will take place in January and February, with a finalists event in April, 2011.



Winning bands will receive:



  • Over 40 hours of Recording Time at: Phase One Studios (T.O), Red Rhino Recording (MTL), and Audio Valley (OTT)

  • Mastering Sessions

  • Outer and Inner-City Industry Showcases (The Mod Club Theatre and Club Soda)

  • Artists' music heard by any 5 major or indie labels of the artists' choice through LME music lawyer with a guaranteed response

  • Global distribution through 'Noisy Planet' (www.noisyplanet.net)

  • Music sent to a music publicist for review and possible media campaign

All Bands will be judged by label owners, managers, and A and R representatives from labels/groups such as Universal, Sony Music, Indica Records, Feldman Group, etc, as well as publicists, radio programmers, signed artists etc.



Bands will be judged according to:



  • Tightness and professionalism (25%)

  • Stage presence and performance (20%)

  • Originality and Creativity (15%)
  • Song Writing and Structure (10%)

  • Crowd Reaction (30%)


All ages are welcome. Tickets to the event are $12 each. The show will start at approximately 3pm and end at approximately 11pm. Each band will have a 25 minute set time with a 10 minutes to set up any equipment. All sound/lighting will be provided, along with backline including drumset and guitar and bass amp(s).


LME has booked acts such as Collie Buddz (Digital/Columbia Records), Lindsay Robbins (Aquarius Records), Reset (Indy Rekordz Inc.), Psychotic 4 (Indica Records), La Confrerie (Disques Koésion).
