Summary
May 10, 2008 Submission Extension
Please note that the promoter has extended this opportunity until the end of the month (May 31st). The director has finished the rough cut and would like to consider taking the flower shop scene in a different direction. Please see below for additional genres that will be considered for this scene.
The Wedding is an independent film produced by Lazy Susan Production in Calgary, Alberta. This film will be submitted to the film festival circuit and is currently accepting song submissions for licensing. Please note that songwriters retain ownership over their materials, and that this is a basic flat fee license. Songwriters will be compensated $50-100 per track used, and all artists will be featured on the Lazy Susan Productions website and given full screen credit. As is standard in this type of agreement, there will not be royalty payments. All artists will be provided with a copy of the finished product. There is at least one slot reserved for Sonicbids artists.
The film is a 15-20 minute independent comedy about Zoe, an outspoken girl who never wanted to get married to the disbelief of everyone around her. Zoe plans to prove everyone right at her best friend's wedding, in what turns out to be a little more than she bargained for.
A variety of music is required for this film including acoustic, adult contemporary, alternative, classical, new age/ambient, singer/songwriter, etc. The main musical theme that is central to this project is a high energy, girl-fronted Pop/Rock/Punk band, and it would be ideal to have 2 or 3 songs from the same band in this genre.
Artists must own all publishing rights (including any and all samples) and the master recording of the material they submit for consideration.

May 10, 2008 UPDATE:
The director is considering taking this scene in a different direction. The owner of the flower shop in this film is flamboyantly gay, so they would also like to solicit a female-fronted cheerful pop song (along the lines of ABBA) for consideration for this scene. As the final decision on the direction of this scene is still up in the air, all previous submissions are still being considered and additional submissions in the previous genres listed will continue to be accepted for consideration as well.
