HATCHfest Asheville 2010 Presented By 98.1 FM The River, Creative Allies and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to HATCHfest Asheville. The event will bring in the brightest minds from the intersection of design and technology, including acclaimed and award-wining film directors, fashion designers, inventors, journalists, songwriters and architects. One selected artist will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with acclaimed songwriter Matt Morris, record a song and music video on the Lennon Bus, and also get to perform at a special Matt Morris concert during the festival./n/nOne songwriter and/or band will have the opportunity to be a HATCHfest Asheville's Music Groundbreaker. These Groundbreakers will get the opportunity to work one-on-one with Matt Morris (Timberlake, Aguilera, Clarkson), record a song and music video on the Lennon Bus, and also get to perform at a special Matt Morris concert during the festival. This opportunity will take place on Saturday, April 17th, 2010, and is presented by HATCHfest Asheville sponsors' 98.1 The River and Creative Allies.

About HATCHfest Asheville

The second annual HATCHfest Asheville will take place from April 15 -18, 2010. It will bring in the brightest minds from the intersection of design and technology, including acclaimed and award-wining film directors, fashion designers, inventors, journalists, songwriters and architects. The mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators through mentorship. One of the highlights for 2010 is the participation of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and acclaimed singer/songwriter Matt Morris.

Matt released his chart-topping debut album, "When Everything Breaks Open" in January. The record has received critical acclaim, radio airplay and has landed him on several TV shows including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the George Lopez Show and David Letterman. Matt has toured extensively with such artists as the Indigo Girls and Joan Osborne and has been featured at the Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits Music Festivals. Matt is one of music's most renowned songwriters. His songs have been performed by Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguillera and Kelly Clarkson.

During the week, HATCHfest Asheville will host educational events, networking parties, workshops, concerts, film screenings and exhibits for the general public. The festival pairs the mentors with selected Groundbreakers, young creative professionals chosen from around the country, for one-on-one sessions and small group workshops.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) mobile audio and HD video recording and production facility. Working together with some of the biggest names in music, the Lennon Bus encourages students to play music, write songs, engineer recording sessions and produce video projects using the latest audio, video, and live sound equipment.
