The New York State Museum in Albany, NY is to showcase artists who identify as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender) for a night of performances. Artists and/or bands who have members who identify with this group are eligible.

This is the first year for this event. The showcase will coincide with Pride activities in the month of June and will be held on June 28, 2007. 3 – 5 artists will ultimately be chosen for the showcase in any genre so long as the submitting material is from a band or artist in the LGBT community. Music must be original, as no cover bands are accepted.

The New York State Museum is a major research and educational institution. It is dedicated to promoting inquiry and advancing knowledge in the fields of geology, biology, anthropology, and history, through the investigation of material evidence germane to New York State's past, present and future. The Museum shares this knowledge through exhibits and other means with wide and diverse audiences. It encourages these audiences to take delight in learning by participating in the discovery process central to its work.
