Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to The Little Apple Jazz Festival. The festival takes place in Manhattan, KS every July at the City Park’s Bandshell. Compensation for bands will range from $100-$2,000 all inclusive (including travel)./n/nFor the sixth year running, the K-State Student Union Program Council and the Manhattan, KS Parks & Recreation Department are working together to produce the Little Apple® Jazz Festival as part of the Arts in the Park series. The festival, which will be held from approximately 5pm-11pm on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the City Park’s Bandshell, unites people through their common love of jazz music.



The 2009 festival attracted 2000 people. The festival also aims to attract out-of-towners to show off Manhattan, Kansas -- the Little Apple®! They strive to showcase between four and six bands, including a traditional jazz band, a contemporary/smooth jazz band, a Latin jazz band, and a headliner. The headlining bands for the 2005-2009 festivals were Kevin Mahogany, Kathy Kosins, Ron Gutierrez, Lisa Henry, and Les Lankhorst, respectively. There will be two stages at the festival, including an emerging artist stage. Compensation for bands will be all-inclusive, including travel. Out-of-country bands need not apply. They are looking for talented, reasonably priced (preferably not exceeding $2000) local/regional artists or those artists traveling through the area.
