LME Battle of the Bands 2009

Landmark Events is a Montreal based promotion company planning concert events exclusively in Quebec and the surrounding area. They have booked acts such as:



• Lindsay Robbins (Aquarius Records)

• Reset (Indy Rekordz Inc.)

• Psychotic 4 (Indica Records)

• La Confrerie (Disques Koésion)



This year, LME Presents: Landmark Battle of the Bands 2009 (Sponsored by Red Rhino Records and Molson Dry) at Club Soda (clubsoda.ca) on February, 22nd, 2009. This event is a battle of the bands, a showcase and a kick ass show at an amazing venue all in one (one day event)! There will be 15 bands competing for the top 3 positions; all bands will be judged by record executives from Universal and Red Rhino Records.



Selected Sonicbids artists will get an ideal time-slot (between 7pm and 11pm; the event will take place all day). The show will start at 1pm and end at approximately 11pm. Each band will have a 25 minute set time with a 10 minutes to set up any equipment. All sound/lighting will be provided, along with backline including drumset and guitar and bass amp(s).



1st place will receive:

• 25 Hours of recording time at the renowned Red Rhino recordings. http://www.redrhinorecording.com/

• A chance for your music to be heard by executives from any 2 record companies you want from our Music lawyers contact list; with a guaranteed response!



2nd place will receive:

• 15 Hours of recording time at the renowned Red Rhino recordings. http://www.redrhinorecording.com/

• A chance for your music to be heard by executives from any 2 record companies you want from our Music lawyers contact list; with a guaranteed response!



3rd place will receive:

• A New Guitar

• A chance for your music to be heard by an executive from any record company you want from our Music lawyers contact list; with a guaranteed response!



The top 5 bands will get to proceed and play a secondary showcase in front of record executives (location TBA). All bands will receive professional critique from our judging sheets if requested.



All bands in the competition will be given tickets to sell to fans and friends for support. Artists submitting through Sonicbids are not required to sell any tickets, but will supply tickets if requested. In similar past events we have had crowds of over 700 people, and we expect over 900 this year! All ages are welcome; tickets to the event are $12 each.



Bands will be judged according to:

• Tightness and professionalism 25%

• Stage Presence & Performance: 20%

• Originality and Creativity: 15%

• Song Writing and Structure: 10%

• Crowd Reaction: 30%
