Part conference, part exhibition and part entertainment, London Calling provides the essential stop-off for anyone who is anyone in the world of the music industry. This year’s event takes place June 29-30, 2006 at Earls Court in London.

Throughout the event there will be showcases at clubs each night as well as at a day stage in the conference venue that will feature themed international showcases, spotlight artists and more. There will be 9-10 acts playing each day during London Calling – and four slots have been reserved for Sonicbids artists. One of these slots is reserved for a band from the UK, one is reserved for a band from Ireland and the other two slots are reserved for bands from North America. The two bands from North America who are selected to play will receive US$1000 to help cover travel costs (paid upon proof of travel arrangements to London Calling). Selected artists will also get to attend the conference for free.

London Calling accepts a wide range of genres including rock, pop, alternative, dance/electronica/DJ, hip-hop, R&B, funk and punk.

In addition to artist showcases there is a challenging two-day program of interactive panels, workshops and presentations featuring key decision makers, pioneers and entrepreneurs (not just the usual suspects) from the worlds of traditional music business, mobile, music retail, marketing and new technology to develop a fresh perspective on the business and the their view of the future.

Please note: Selected artists will be responsible for all associated costs, travel and visas (where required) and must have a valid passport. There will be about one month from the notification date to the start of the festival for selected artists to make travel arrangements.
