Summary

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to The Love Song to New Orleans Song Contest. They're searching for a "magical" song for their upcoming compilation to be released October 1st. The CD is a complimentary mix featuring songs either about, or just inspired by, New Orleans & Louisiana./n/nThe Love Song to New Orleans Song Contest is searching for one remaining "magical" song for their upcoming compilation to be released October 1st. The CD is a complimentary mix of blues, jazz, Americana, southern rock & folk that has songs either about New Orleans & Louisiana directly, or just inspired by (in style or vibe).



The compilation will be sold in retail stores in Louisiana (Louisiana Music Factory, Peaches Records, Borders etc.), to the many tourists that come each year to the various festivals as well as to the locals. Part of the proceeds will benefit the New Orleans Musician Relief Fund which sends grants to displaced New Orleans musicians affected by hurricane Katrina. It will also be made available to the digital retailers (Itunes, Amazon, etc).



Due to the high quality of submissions please note that all artists may be considered for 2nd compilation as well as non exclusive representation to film and tv by TheMusicLibrary.org. The Love Song to New Orleans is also now offering 6-8 finalists a spot on the compilation.  They will also send the top 4 finalists a beautiful piano print courtesy our chosen charity, the New Orleans Musician's Relief Fund.



Live promotional events will be staged for the release October 1st. Entrant will have a chance to perform at these live events and CD release party in New Orleans. The compilation will also be promoted heavily to blues, jazz, Americana, folk & Southern rock magazines & radio media worldwide.



ADK microphones is helping to sponsor the event and will be donating a microphone to the winning song entrant. The songwriter will be offered the standard mechanical royalty for each CD/download sold as well as promotion on our websites. Song entrant will also be offered a non-exclusive license from TheMusicLibrary.org to have their music pitched to film, TV and a promotional copy.



This is their second song contest- the last one received International radio and print coverage, and was voted one of the “Top 12 song contests by Music Connection Magazine”. The winner’s song was performed by Ali Woodson (former Temptation), promoted to film & tv and placed in Queen Latifah’s movie “The Perfect Holiday” (www.ChristmasSongContest.com).



Song entrants must own all rights to the master recording and copyright and sign a document stating this (musician/producer performances, songwriting & publishing, etc.).

Terms And Conditions

1. All songs submitted must be original. Songwriters must own full rights to the master recording and copyright and have signed releases for all musicians, producers, writers, performers & personnel on recording.

2. Contestants may enter multiple songs.

3. This competition is open to all amateur and professional songwriters and anyone regardless of nationality or origin.

4. Songs are judged equally on originality, lyrics, melody and composition. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all authors of any song. Division of prizes is responsibility of entrant. The winner releases sponsors from all liability regarding prizes won. Entrants and their collaborators will retain full rights to all work submitted for the competition.

5. Winner will be notified by email and must sign and return a release form confirming that winner's song is original and he/she holds rights to the song. Failure to sign and return the form within 10 days will result in immediate disqualification and an alternative winner will be selected. Entry constitutes permission to use winners names, likeness, voices, and submitted music for future publicity and advertising purposes without additional compensation.

6. Winners confirm that by submitting their song to the contest that their song is original and they hold all rights to the song, and can grant permission for the purposes of this contest and any exploitation that might arise therefrom. Selected entrant must own all rights to allow the song to be used if selected as a winner, to be released as a song on the cd and for digital distribution. They must own all rights to the performance and have obtained any and all releases necessary to allow the song to be released on the record. The Love Song to New Orleans Song Contest and its employees, agents, licensees, distributors, etc are not responsible for any legal action arising from any breach by entrant of the warranties hereunder.

7. Winners will be paid the standard mechanical royalty rate in effect at the time of the contest for each copy of their song sold and not returned. Entrant is responsible for splitting the fee amongst co-writers.. Payments will be made once yearly minimum, and entrant is responsible for keeping their contact information up to date. If they fail to keep their information up to date, their payment will be held no longer than a year from the date of each yearly accounting.

8. The Song Contest reserves the right to extend the deadline of the competition if needed and not choose any song if the quality of submissions do not meet our standards.

9. The Song Contest reserves the rights to change the rules if any outside third party cannot fulfill their obligations, but will do their best to find suitable alternatives.
