Summary

The Lowertown Arts and Music Festival, held on May 18-20, 2012, has established a tradition of excellent musical offerings in Western Kentucky. With 3 stages and an attendance of 10,000 people, the festival creates a regional awareness of Paducah as a cultural center for the arts and artists.

It is encouraging all musicians from the regional area (300 mile radius of Paducah, Kentucky) to submit to perform live at the festival. Accepted genres are varied and eclectic, and artists are welcomed to submit as long as their music is free of explicit content.

Benefits for selected artists:

  • Artists will be compensated. This amount will be negotiated at the time of booking.

  • The option to apply for free lodging with a host in the Lower Town area during the festival.

  • Exposure due to the national attention the festival receives through TV, radio and print media.

About the festival:

The Festival occurs in the neighborhood known as Lower Town. The 2010 Festival brought the Paducah Symphony Orchestra in to handle the musical performances. The festival provides music from the Main Stage and from two Cabaret Stages. Part of the festival plan includes focusing attention not only on the 'street' action- but also actively promoting visits to each of the artist/art locations throughout the district.
