Summary

Promising Projects, in affiliation with The Mahogony Lounge, a premier listening lounge venue inside The Midland Hilton in Texas, is seeking musicians and performing artists for immediate openings for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. There are 12 slots available each month with 1 reserved exclusively for Sonicbids artists.



Performances on Mondays and Thursdays are 'happy hour' performances from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Performances begin at 8:00 pm on Wednesdays.



The venue has a capacity of 120, and a local draw is not necessary to be booked. Priority will be given to original artists. Selected artists are expected to provide their own sound.


Please note that the venue is not appropriate for a traditional drum setup, but other percussion instruments may be appropriate and acceptable.




The Mahogony Lounge is looking for artist to help them in “Changing the way Midland hears music.”



  • Mondays and Thursdays: Selected artists will be compensated for their performances. Performance times are 5:30 - 7:30 pm and should consist of original works.


  • Wednesdays: Perfect for artists traveling through the area on tour and needing lodging! The Mahogany Lounge desires one to two-piece/person, acoustic groups who are traveling through and want to play in a listening lounge type environment. They will also consider a larger band, provided they have the ability to perform an acoustic show (not all members need perform). Wednesdays are not appropriate for a traditional drum setup, but other percussion instruments may be appropriate and acceptable. Lodging accommodations may be provided for Wednesday evening performances. Performance times on Wednesday are typically 8:00 to midnight and should also focus on original music.

They seek to harmonize the musician with the venue to provide an experience that will make listening audiences return and impact a positive contribution to the fan base of the performing artist.
