Los Angeles will make music history with the first-ever Make Music Pasadena, a Fête de la Musique event, taking place on World Music Day and the summer solstice, Saturday, June 21, 2009, from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Held in more than 300 cities in over 100 countries, Fête de la Musique is the largest musical celebration in the world, and Pasadena, one of the top cultural and civic destinations in the Los Angeles area, is bringing this international phenomenon to the West Coast for the very first time.

During this unique event, everyone is invited to make music throughout the city on the longest day of the year. Make Music Pasadena will feature internationally known headliners performing for thousands at four main stages, and hundreds of amateur musicians who will bring their musical talents to the streets. From world music to indie rock, pop, Latin, classical, jazz and every conceivable musical genre, Make Music Pasadena will showcase an incredible range of sounds and styles celebrating the diversity that is Southern California.

Make Music Pasadena is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists to perform at one of four main stages in front of thousands. There are 2 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. The two selected artists/bands will receive $400 cash prize, two luxury hotel rooms and other exciting prizes. With an expected attendance of nearly 40,000 people, this is a great gig for any performing artist to showcase their talent.
