Summary
The Malibu Music Awards is an innovative songwriter competition as part of the Malibu Arts Festival. This years festival will be held on July 26-27, 2008 at the Malibu Civic Center in Malibu, CA. Each year the festival hosts an enthusiastic 12,000 people and nearly 250 booths and vendors.
This year, the festival is opening its doors to songwriters from all around the country. The Malibu Music Awards is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids songwriters in 11 different categories. There are a number of cash prizes which will be provided to the top 3 winners in each category, and one grand prize winner will receive a performance slot at the festival, airfare to Los Angeles, free stay in a 5-star Hotel (Malibu Beach Inn), plus a recording session with Gold & Platinum producing artist Carl Graves, formerly of Oingo Boingo.
Malibu Music Awards Accepted Categories:
Each submitted song will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the music industry including Jenna Voorhees - Universal Music Publishing, Jenna Leigh owner of Circle of Songs, Terence Davis owner of Great Music Studio, DJ Carolyn Fox - KHZ Radio, and Gold & Platinum producing artist Chris Henry. Songs will be judged based on lyrics, melody, and structure. This contest presents a great opportunity for one grand prize winner to perform their song live (all expenses paid) at the Malibu Arts Festival.
