The Malibu Music Awards is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids songwriters in 12 different categories./n/nThe Malibu Music Awards is an innovative songwriter competition that will be held on September 26, 2009 at the Malibu Civic Center in Malibu, CA.

This year, the competition is opening its doors to songwriters from all around the country. The Malibu Music Awards is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids songwriters in 12 different categories. There are a number of prizes which will be provided to the top 3 winners in each category, and one grand prize winner will receive accommodations in Malibu, a featured performance at the awards (150+ attendees, but other benefits), a video copy of performance, and studio time at a participating studio; an airfare/travel-stipend is negotiable.

    Each submitted song will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the music industry including Meg Hanson (Universal a&r), Chris Henry (Nashville), Heath Caan (Live Nation), Jenna Voorhees (Universal), Vince Quintero (former Sony a&r), Kevin Carson (EMI), and more.

    Malibu Music Awards (Contest)


    1. ELIGIBILTY: Open to anyone wishing to submit original music for consideration. All entrants will be considered for each prize, including the Grand Prize, which will require travel to Malibu, California, USA.

    2. CONTEST PERIOD: Deadline to submit is July 1, 2008 at 11:59 pm PST. If your song is chosen you will be contacted via email by July 10, 2008.

    3. TO ENTER: Either submit your original music through Sonic Bids at www.sonicbids.com: click View More Gigs under spotlighted gigs on the home page; change all categories on the drop-down menu to Competitions/ Contests and type Malibu Music Awards into the search field and click search. This will bring you to a gig listing overview and allow you to submit your EPK. Or email original song to Great Music: kira@greatmusicstudio.com. The material submitted will be considered the Contest Entry. Entries must be the original work of the Entrant; must not infringe third-partys rights; must be suitable for publication (i.e. may not be obscene or indecent); must not contain obscene or pornographic material, may not contain defamatory statements, may not invade privacy rights of any person, firm or entity, may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations, and may not contain any copyrighted works (other than as owned by the Entrant). Entries containing prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by the directors, officers or judges affiliated with Great Music Inc. (Sponsor), in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate will be disqualified. Sponsor makes the final determination as to which Entries are eligible. Entries that do not adhere to the foregoing and following requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in this Contest.

    4. CONTEST TERMS OF SUBMISSION: As conditions of entry into the Contest, and by submitting an Entry either by EPK via Sonic Bids or by email via kira@greatmusicstudio.com, each Entrant warrants and represents that the Entrant owns all rights to the Entry he/she is entering in the contest. Each entrant further warrants and represents that the Entrant has obtained permission from each person performing in the Entry to grant the rights to the Contest Parties described in these Official Rules, and can make written copies of such permissions available to the Contest Parties upon request. By submitting an entry via Sonic Bids Entrant agrees to the Terms and Conditions specified on the Sonic Bids website (www.sonicbids.com) and further agrees to never sue or assert any claim against the Contest Parties use of those Materials. Entrant agrees to indemnify and hold the Contest Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders or other partners, and any of their employees (collectively, the Contest Indemnitees), harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Contest Indemnitees due to or arising out of the Entrants Entry Materials or Additional Materials in the Contest, or the Entrants conduct during and in connection with this Contest, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights, right of publicity, right of privacy or defamation. Entrant agrees to release and indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor and the Contest Parties from any and all claims that any advertising, presentation, web content or any other material subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of Sponsor or the Contest Parties infringes on the rights of Entrants work as contained in any Entry.
