Summary

The Marquee is an independent magazine which strives to be the Farmer’s Almanac of Denver's regional music scene — providing readers with facts, tid-bits, in-depth feature stories and a calendar section that is unparalleled on the Front Range, covering every live music venue from Red Rocks to Mishawaka. Published monthly for over 5 years, The Marquee specializes in providing CD reviews, band interviews, and previews of upcoming shows in the Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs areas. There are 8-10 stories per issue featuring local artists and bands touring through the Colorado area. Featured stories usually involve an interview that helps the reader get to better know the band and their history. Submitting artists will also be considered for album reviews. The magazine covers both national and regional artists in a wide variety of genres, ranging from Rock to Bluegrass to Hip Hop.

The Marquee is printed monthly and distributed in almost 400 locations, with an estimated readership of 22,000 people per month. In addition to the print version, The Marquee also owns and operates a corresponding website (www.marqueemag.com), an online version of the magazine that includes editorial content and averages over 30,000 hits per month.

The Marquee has an impressive calendar section that is unmatched in the area (over 10,000 listings in the past year), ensuring readers keep their Marquee in hand throughout the month as they make their live music decisions. Selected bands will have their upcoming shows included in the calendar section in addition to being featured in the magazine.

Past artists featured in the Marquee include Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Velvet Revolver, Secret Machines, Alice Cooper, Arrested Development, Wilco, Guster, Queens of the Stone Age, Trey Anastasio, Ben Kweller, James Blunt, Cake, The Strokes, Marshall Tucker Band, Flogging Molly, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Modest Mouse, Gomez, The Fray, Scissor Sisters, and many others.

Please Note: The Marquee is a local magazine and only artists from Colorado, or artists who will be playing in the Colorado area will be considered.
